Tech and Humans
October 8th, 2003
What a fun topic. I spend the majority of my time playing with technology of one type or another and really love it. When I’m not working, I play on the PC or the Mac. They have both been great companions and teachers over the years. I also play with tech at work. As a welder, I have lots of power running through my hands and am paid (well) to control it and create something wonderful with it. (Side note, I started a new job today, details available for the price of an email inquiry.)
I am a spiritual person. For many years it has been the primary focus of my thoughts. I am also a geek (and proud of it!) For several years I wasnt able to make them coexist with any kind of balance. Instead of meditating when I first woke up, I went online and got my dose of calm and peace. Of course, that isnt really the best form of finding and maintaining that inner glow so after a while, I began to glow less and less. Because of my predilection with the spiritual aspect of things, I felt this turmoil as something to learn from as well as something to strive for again. Balance is as important as staying in the moment so I am constantly working to do both. I say work, really its a labor of love. With the pendulum swinging back towards a calmer, more peaceful writer, you may notice a trend towards possibility thinking rather than rants. I believe we can make a positive difference in the world and want to share some of my ideas along those lines.
One of the biggest concepts I have had the pleasure of experiencing is the Mastermind. I first read about it in Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. Simple concept, really. Two or more people get together, on a regular basis, with the purpose of achieving goals that would be more difficult to achieve alone. The group, working in cooperation, creates an energy that each person has access to. That energy has real power to help make things happen towards the shared goals. I really recommend looking into this further. Maybe even creating a group of your own. If you do create a group, please let me know what you experience while you are in it.
